Typically identified as Oriental Rugs, antique rugs come from many areas of the world. Turkish antique rugs are considered the most valuable and the most desirable antique rugs by decorators today. We offer the finest Turkish antique & vintage rugs from the regions of Oushack, Giordes, Konya, Sivas, Tulu & Anatolia. Characteristics include rich colors, intriguing designs and fine wool known to the region of Oushack & other Turkish areas. Oushak (also known as oushackor or ushak) rugs transcend from Park Ave. to Soho with a large interior design appeal.

Oushak carpets made in the 17th century were used in the royal houses of Europe (thus called Palace Rugs) as well as in churches. Oushak rugs have recurring themes: the star, the medallion, and the bird (usually white background). Ghiordes (giordes) rugs may have a floral spray or prayer niche in the middle. Prayer rugs run in smaller sizes (for one person to kneel on) and have a prayer niche (mihrab) as the center motif. They are incredibly popular as entry or kitchen rugs due to their desirable colors and patterns.
