I am having the electrician come tomorrow at 1 p.m. to hang my swing arm lamps to go with a four poster rice bed. I read that the shade should be at eye level. Do they go inside or outside of the posters?
So sorry for my delayed response but our Creative Director had a baby so we got behind on our blog monitoring! You can hang the swing arms inside OR outside (usually outside) the posts of the tester bed. Send us a picture!

I am installing swing arm lights (hard wired) in our guest bedroom to serve as reading lights. There are 2 single beds in the room and it is quite small. I have one night table in the middle between the 2 beds. Should I install the swing arm light above the night table? Should they be part of one system or will 2 seperate swing arm lights look alright?

Either would work. If you use two separate swing arms you would want them to be a cleaner look that is not too bulky in size. This will keep them from overwhelming the space. Place both of them on the inner corners of the beds nearest the night table. There are lots of double arm swing arm lights, for example our Double Arm Pharmacy Swing Arm Wall Light available in 3 finishes or our Double Duty Swing Arm Wall Lamp. These would keep the space from becoming too cluttered if there is a lot of other stuff going on in the room.
