Our new catalog is out & we had such fun putting it together we wanted to share the fun! The great group of Folks over at Kitchen Design Works in our home town of Richmond Virginia were so generous to let us use their showroom to feature our products.

The owners Marvin Daniel & Brian Pilgrim are “top drawer” and welcomed us into their award winning showroom with open arms & “carte blanche” to do as we pleased. We just had to let you know more about them. Marvin is the “showman” over their & he could give PT Barnum a run for his money. Brian is the designer & has he got talent! If you are in need of a kitchen makeover they’re your team.
The tour of the place is delish! They have all the latest & greatest in state of the art design, equipment and talent. So much to see in the showroom where they feature traditional, contemporary, transitional and “oh so hip” vignettes. The choices are overwhelming; granite, concrete, stainless??? Whatever your heart desires is available. To help sort it all out they have a knowledgeable staff that will help make your decision making a breeze.
It doesn’t stop with kitchens. They offer baths, laundry rooms, wet bars, closets, wine cellars & more!
We featured our Cover products in their chic French Country Kitchen. We fell in love with the warm espresso glazed cabinets & the “to die for ” French La Cornue Stove in a very Provence mustard color.
We decided to ramp it up a notch with our Antique Mirror Bell Jar Lanterns. They added sophistication & an ambience that just worked perfectly. Our Siskiyou Sisal Rug with a chocolate twill border is shown on the beautiful heart pine floor. It added an organic touch with a natural subtlety to marry up with the pendants.
Our design team couldn’t resist a shot in the wine cellar. Our new Rustic Mango Wood Chandelier had clearly found a new home! It worked in harmony with the mood of the room with a warmth & glow that was magically enchanting.

Hi folks – this is long overdue, but our renovation finished at last and we finally got around to snapping some pics of the wonderful pendant lights that we got from the retail store last fall. Thought you all might get a kick out of seeing them in place. They are really stunning, just breathtakingly beautiful and everyone comments on them! Many thanks to all the folks who opened every last shade to let us pick our favorite two. Thanks again for all your great help!

10 Easy Update Ideas for Your Kitchen
- Paint one wall a color. Or try a gradated color on the ceiling (going lighter towards the center).
- Change your pendants with larger hip pendants (or convert your recessed lights to pendants).
- Add a large shade over the chandelier above your eating table. Shop here.
- Add LED lighting above your cabinets. This will make a low ceiling seem higher.
- Add a rug. The new & improved “outdoor” rugs work really well in the kitchen because you can hose them off! They now look like tufted carpet!
- Add a bordered sisal rug and repeat the border fabric on your barstools!
- Recover your barstools in an updated fabric.
- Change your knobs (See Top Knobs Nouveau section here and here).
- Paint your outdated tile backsplash with epoxy paints in a random checkerboard pattern in various hues of the same color interspersed with a neutral (gray, white, beige, etc.). Here’s how!
- Replace your center ceiling light with monorail track. This allows for task and accent lighting on artwork, special cabinet and hood features, etc.

We are seeing a growing lantern trend. Indoors or out, lanterns add spice to any space! Don’t be afraid to use them in unexpected places, such as the bathroom or bedroom. Here are some of our favorites (and our customers love them too)!
Antique Mirror Bell Jar Lantern
We literally saw the light when we spotted a beautiful antique mirrored glass hurricane candle holder not being used at full potential! Our creative minds told us that this piece would be much better on the ceiling as a hanging light for everyone to admire! We immediately got to work and came up with an ultra stylish design, better known as our Antique Mirror Bell Jar Lantern. It makes a statement in a foyer by itself or looks amazing when several are hung together over a kitchen island!
Bronze and Clear Glass Smokebell Lantern
Who doesn’t love a classic Smokebell Lantern? They date back to the colonial days and were designed with a glass lid to provide the maximum amount of candle light without getting smoke stains on the ceiling. Ours is a very traditional, plain glass version, much like the original…a timeless choice for a style that transcends trends!

We’ve got spring fever and can’t wait for the warm air to get here already so we can head outside and put our decorative skills to work in our outdoor living areas.
