Golden Touch 2013

Our final catalog cover for 2013 brings home a chic collection of four fresh fashion forward trends. You will see gold appearing everywhere, bringing luxurious warmth to shiny metallic finishes, and over scaled geometric patterns putting a modern twist on classic motifs.  Global designs add worldly sophistication, while bold color keeps things from becoming too serious.

“Golden” is a word that brings to mind various themes; of royalty and riches in luxurious palaces, of destiny and excellence in an opportunity or favorite, and of luminance and warmth from shining light or a glowing sun.  Our cover feature displays this layering of themes with rich color, luxurious finishes, well-traveled global motifs and glowing warmth that we like to call a Golden Touch.

Rich teal walls become a receding backdrop for the display of crisp linen and colorful fabrics with highlights from shimmering gold metallic finishes.  This fashionable hue sets a dramatic mood while the large furnishings in the room remain neutral and timeless for more longevity.  The Soft Modern Petite Upholstered Sofa in a creamy cotton / linen blend fabric is versatile for any space, but remains upscale with contrast welt detailing, sculpted scoop arms and plump down blend cushions. With a simple change of accent pillows it could be fitting for any décor with an overall length of 66”.

Tables in the room are a study of global patterns, like Greek Key and Arabesque designs, executed in modern minimalist style and luxurious finishes.  Not your ordinary tables, these functional pieces do their job with sculptural beauty in painted metallic finishes paired with shiny lacquer and glass tops.  Both sleek selections are offered in warm gold or silver to reflect your preferred treasure.

The lighting continues the warm gold metallic hues with a pair of Keyhole Ring Table Lamps and a glamorous Gilt Olive Leaf Chandelier that share classic timeless themes with a modern edge.  The clean lines of the keyhole table lamps are accented with a contemporary rectangular paper shade, while the olive leaf chandelier illuminates a fashionable featherlike bowl.

The shapes from a Tudor style Window Grill appears in over scaled symmetry underfoot grounding the space in a plush textured wool rug with art silk highlights. The softer aqua tones on the floor are repeated in the Wooded Twilight Oil Painting over the sofa with moody tones of misty blue and green.

With the refined neutral palette set, now is the time to add bold pops of color and pattern play for exuberant excitement. Our Designers Favorite Accent Chair hosts a high style leafy print in 8 shades of turquoise, green, coral and brown wrapped in a vibrant painted teal wood frame.  An Orange Ikat with Turquoise Pillow added to the sofa plays off its graphic geometric pillows and brings the unexpected contrast of bold color.

The latest trends are showcased here where timeless neutral themes take center stage while bold fashionable accents add the supporting cast for distinctive style.  Trending patterns like Greek Key, Ikat, Moroccan Trellis and Arabesque collaborate for a sophisticated blend of global influence, bold color, and a modern edge.  Gold patina finishes add warm luxury and over scaled classic designs are fresh and more contemporary.  Give your home the Golden Touch with exceptional designs for living from Shades of Light.

Hello Kristen, Usually we create our own colors however I checked and this time we used a Ben Moore color called Venezuelan sea 2054-30. Now be careful, this is the same exact color as the cover of the catalog. If you are seeing the difference, it’s from the lighting.
