I got two small Hamptons lanterns in white, and I adore them. They are at the top and bottom of a staircase with small landings, so small-ish fixtures were necessary. Extremely easy to change the bulb, and since the bottom is covered, you don't have a lit bulb hanging above your head, yet they provide a lot of light. The metal on the lantern top is super shiny, I just wish the same could be said for the metal underneath, which is unfinished, splotchy, and not pretty to see (I painted it white and fixed that flaw.) I love love love the latched door, it's so charming. The only real negative is the ceiling plate that cam with the light. It doesn't go with the fixture AT ALL. It has curves and bubbles, and although it is also white, it's a different shade of white, and looks very cheap. Best to get a simple flat one at a home improvement store instead. In all, though, I love these lights and Shades Of Light sped up their usual process and got them to me quickly. |
